I read all the reviews before I purchased, but felt I was willing to take a chance with a few dents or cheap quality for the price, since I am only planning on using this in emergencies. When it arrived, I was very pleasantly suprised. No damage whatsoever and the quality looked very sturdy to me. I used to own a landscape company for years and have used many generators and this seemed to be as nice as any. Heavy Duty construction! I filled it with gas and oil and it started on the first pull. I do agree a little modification to the pull rope would make it a little more accessible, but it started on one pull so I can deal with that. I may buy a battery for it anyway. I ran it for about a half hour and plugged in some appliances. It ran everything fine, ran smooth and really much quieter than I expected. Overall, I think this generator is going to do exactly what I intended and more.
